Description and Requirements

The NA Sales Leader will drive Lenovo’s distinctive market strategy, which focuses speed and agility with customers, partnering with other key players for the full solution. This allows Lenovo to be a trusted partner in the Data Center IT ecosystem with other participants such as system integrators, managed services/Cloud providers and best in class software companies. The NA leader will perform an important role in helping strategic investments and acquisitions that deepen and extend the platform offering that Lenovo provides.


  • Complete the transformation to a fully functioning, autonomous business unit, bringing inspiration to the team and alignment around the strategic vision and the culture
  • Instill a customer centricity and a solution mind set to drive sustainable success with market leading customer satisfaction and reliability
  • Deliver on the revenue and profit objectives
  • Play an active role in contributing Lenovo’s global strategy

  • End to End accountability for the Infrastructure Solutions Group P&L in NA.
  • Establishes and maintains productive executive relationships with customers and prospects. Establishes and maintains executive relationships with distributors, large resellers, systems integrators, Service providers and ISVs.
  • Aligns the NA organization’s objectives with Lenovo business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Accountable for effective sales organization design, including sales job roles, sales channel design, and sales resource deployment.
  • Achieves assigned organizational objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix, and other strategic goals.
  • Establishes and governs the sales organizations performance management system. This includes establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing and prioritizing critical performance measures for all NA; overseeing the equitable allocation of organization objectives across all sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales and sales management associates are held accountable for assigned results.
  • Provides leadership to the sales organization’s management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
  • Accountable for the NA organization support budget. Proactively assesses existing sales organization support investments, including those in technology, training, and administrative support. Ensures support investments yield productivity benefits consistent with established objectives. Provides managerial leadership to Sales Operations, Marketing in meeting this responsibility.
  • Leads sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change.

Position Requirements:                  

The Vice President, NA Infrastructure Solutions Group will be an entrepreneurial, growth and profit-oriented leader who can communicate an innovative vision for the future and inspire the team to execute on the transformation. They will be expected to deliver results regardless of obstacles utilizing the right mix of analysis, instinct, agility, passion and urgency. The future leader will be a confident and resilient person with courage in business and talent decisions, actions and communications. The successful candidate will have the ability to leverage strategic and analytical capabilities to make swift and timely decisions based on client and field input. The person will have an international mind set and be effective in collaborating and influencing broadly across the Lenovo organization.

Candidates may be based anywhere in the US.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years´ experience in a senior leadership role providing solutions to Data Centers Deep expertise selling into Data Center clients in NA
  • 5+ years´ background in a major Data Center technology provider.  Likely to have previously worked at one of the top players such as HPE, Oracle, Fujitsu, Cisco, IBM, EMC or Huawei
  • Knowledge of software-defined networks and hyper-converged infrastructure
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience within a software and solution-led business will be an advantage
  • History leading a  team of over 250 people across NA
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
