About Our Team

This position is for a Wireless Engineer in the Integrated Devices Group. Our Strategic Technology team sorts through the hype and gets our hands dirty determining what emerging technologies can bring to our customers and how to best implement them in our smart devices – notebooks, desktops, tablets, SmartOffice, and IoT Edge devices. The fast-changing connectivity space includes a broad array of wireless technologies including 4G & 5G cellular WAN technology, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IoT, UWB, and more. We are looking for an independent-minded self-started who will be responsible for investigating how to apply those solutions to solve real problems for our customers in areas such as data movement, connectivity, mobility, and location based applications.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with internal & external sources to track significant wireless technology innovation coming in the next 2-3 years & develop use cases that demonstrate how those innovations can benefit our customers
  • Understand implementation details, including creation of proof of concept prototypes as needed
  • Communicate with broader technical and marketing teams to drive strong innovation into our product roadmaps
  • Hand off the technology to product development for successful implementation

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with wireless technology development, management, or integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of PC hardware, Windows driver architecture, antenna design, OR IoT networking
  • Experience developing proof of concept demonstrations & transitioning prototypes to production
  • to work across global boundaries with different cultures and time zones
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, email, and presentation)
  • Mandarin or Japanese skills are a plus.
