Motorola 312 Labs, a newly chartered internal innovation group within the Motorola product organization, comprising global research, design and engineering experts focused on first-of-its-kind product development. This group will explore the unknown through research, ideation, concepting, and prototyping to usher in radically different mobile solutions and technologies in both the near and distant future. Motorola has brought several innovations to the market such as shatterproof screens, moto mods, and the foldable Razr.  Motorola 312 Labs will continue to accelerate new technologies to market and assist the wider Lenovo Group.

As a member of the Wireless Performance Team within 312 Labs, you will develop and maintain our web-based application and SQL database tracking current and new 5G RF and modem carrier requirements and product capabilities for our global portfolio of products.  You will identify and implement new tool capabilities which allow our product development teams to manage supported feature sets, interface with customer-facing engineers to integrate new product requirement tracking capabilities and provide data analysis to support the team’s development of new technology.

Scope of Responsibilities

·        Responsible for developing web applications in various degrees of complexity for metrics, reporting, and data management.

·        Responsible for research and implementing solutions based on Google App Engine/Google Web Toolkit SDK/API.  

·        Be creative in proposing solutions based on customer requirements. 

·        Be self-motivated, positive and have the ability to work as part of a team as a strong team player.

·        Flexibility in working across groups in gathering requirements and implementing solutions.

·        Communicate with the user community to understand their requirements and implement them.

·        Work with North America Product Launch and Modem Software teams to root cause and resolve wireless modem and RF performance issues.

Skill-set required

·        Highly motivated Java developers with specific experience in Google App Engine and Google Web Toolkit framework. 

·        Minimum 3 years of solid experience in Java/J2EE development (Spring/SpringBoot). 

·        Working experience in Google Cloud Platform solutions and API - App Engine, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Datastore, Google Apps Script.

·        Development experience in visualization libraries (such as Google visualization library, Highcharts, D3.js, and Google Data Studio) is a plus.

·        Familiarity with JSON/XML/SQL/Python

·        Highly engaged with a passion to learn and implement creative solutions/new technologies. 

·        Familiarity with Responsive Web Design and multi-device web development with modern web technologies e.g. HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular JS, Angular 8, ReactJS, Bootstrap

·        Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

·        Familiarity with source code management tools such as Gerrit and GIT

·        Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence

·        Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins

Skill-set desired

·        Knowledge of 3GPP 4G/5G RF Bands / Carrier Aggregation

·        Knowledge of 3GPP 4G/5G Protocol Stack (NAS, RRC, RLC, PDCP, MAC)

Work Experience

           Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
