◇Job Description◇
Lenovo is seeking a Senior Counsel as a head of Japan Legal Team, reporting to AP Legal Leader based in Tokyo. The successful candidate will become a member of Japan Leadership Team, as well as a member of AP Legal Team (which comprises of regional counsels based in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and Singapore). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all day-to-day legal matters for Lenovo’s Japan region business, including Lenovo-branded and Motorola-branded products.
【Responsibilities of this position include such items as below:】
・Manage and lead Japan Legal Team to support Lenovo’s Japan region business through advising all types of legal matters including privacy, labor, ethics, marketing, structuring new types of deals, and reviewing high-value and complex contracts.
・Draft and arrange execution of corporate-secretarial documents.
・ Plan and provide compliance trainings.
・Review current processes and practices, change those when deemed fit.
・Be a trusted business partner for Japan Leadership Team.
・Be a mentor and role model for Japan Legal members and build a strong team.
・Closely communicate and collaborate with peer counsels in other regions in AP.
◇Requirements◇
【Skills】
・LLB, JD, or equivalent law degree
・Minimum 7+ years of in-house counsel experience at mid-large company (or similar experience at law firm), ideally with experience in sale and distribution of consumer electronics.
・Managerial experience at company or law firm
・Hands-on experience in managing such issues as described in above responsibilities in Japanese and English
・Experience in any of the following areas would be desirable: channel sales and distribution, e-commerce, consumer protection law, competition law, employment law, internal investigations and compliance, R&D, IP.
・Native-level Japanese, fluent English
