The JP eCommerce team, part of Lenovo’s Asia Pacific region, manages two major brands—Lenovo and NEC—through dedicated brand websites.
The ideal candidate for this role is a versatile and driven business professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and deliverables. With strong business acumen, analytical and reporting capabilities, this individual will leverage market insights and stakeholder relationships to support strategic and operational decisions.
Position Overview:
This position will report directly to the Japan eCommerce General Manager (GM), acting as both a strategic leader and an operational leader. The role spans responsibility across all four segments—Lenovo Commercial, Lenovo Consumer, NEC Consumer, and NEC Commercial—and entails collaborating with worldwide (WW) and Asia Pacific (AP) eCommerce teams to bring global best practices to Japan. With this scope, the role serves as a potential successor to the GM position, pending proven performance.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Operations Oversight
- Comprehensive Planning: Lead Japan’s strategy planning and operational execution processes, enabling the eCommerce leadership team to drive business outcomes effectively. Responsibilities include setting targets and tracking monthly/weekly progress to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Strategic Partner to the GM: Act as a key thought partner for the GM in developing and refining strategy and operations. Assist in preparing annual, quarterly, and ad-hoc strategic materials for Japan's internal meetings and presentations to WW/AP executives.
- Shadowing & Delegation Support: Attend key internal and external meetings with the GM and, when necessary, cover GM responsibilities during travel or absences, ensuring continuity in decision-making.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, operations, marketing) to resolve operational challenges, improve processes, and ensure the efficient execution of eCommerce initiatives.
2. Strategic Initiative Development & Execution
- Strategic Initiative Management: Identify, prioritize, and manage strategic initiatives that align with Japan’s eCommerce goals, monitoring their progress and impact.
- Global Collaboration: Serve as Japan’s representative on worldwide eCommerce projects, sharing insights and adapting successful strategies to the Japanese market.
- Market Intelligence & Insights: Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitors, consumer behavior, and industry trends, leveraging this data to inform strategic decisions and position Japan eCommerce competitively.
3. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Cross-Functional Interlocks: Coordinate and maintain key partnerships across corporate, divisional, and regional strategy teams to align on goals, share updates, and facilitate mutual support.
- Agenda & Meeting Facilitation: Structure and lead Japan eComm leadership team meetings, workshops, and deep-dives to foster alignment and drive productive discussions around critical topics.
- Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Japan leadership team, WW/AP leadership), supporting the GM in maintaining strong, strategic relationships across all touchpoints.

Requirements
Must Have - Essential experience:
- Experience in Strategy, Planning, and Operations: Proven experience managing technology-driven or eComm business operations with a strong focus on strategic planning and execution. Or Business Consultant experience at major consulting firm (Ideally speaking, Senior Consultant level)
- Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese with business-level English (higher fluency preferred).
- Communication & Visualization: Skilled in documentation, storytelling, and visualization for executive presentations.
- Logical & Critical Thinking: High-level skills in logical reasoning and critical analysis.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in using data to shape strategic initiatives and address complex business issues.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior leadership.
- Global Perspective: Experience collaborating with global and regional teams, adapting best practices to local needs.
- Change Management: Ability to drive change and execute strategies within a large org., leading cross-functional teams.
