Role: This electrical engineer is expect to work with worldwide teams to development the leading edge Lenovo server offerings.
This role would apply developed subject matter knowledge to design, analyze, develop, modify and evaluate electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
Responsibilities :
- Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms and PSoC code based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
- Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal peer functions, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
- Work with other electrical hardware engineers and internal and/or outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.
- Represents the electrical hardware team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in x86 architecture and hardware design. Server design experience is preferred.
- 5+ year of experience in EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation and the support of Physical design activity
- Ability to triage and resolve medium to complex issues as well as experience in defining and performing low level hardware validation.
- Strong teamwork experience to co-develop server subsystems with a team of highly motivated engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for a variety of tasks, including customer engagements, defect investigation, and executive updates.
- Experience in VHDL or Verilog programming and setting up test benches for verification of FPGA logic.
- Experience in simulation of FPGA logic ModelSIM being the preferred tool currently in use.
