Motorola Mobility is looking for a talented UXUI Manager for our Monetization & Services Design Group. The Monetization & Services group is responsible for creating growth & monetization channels for Motorola smartphone & software products. From building SSO & user account management applications to interfacing with external revenue share partners, the Monetization & Services Group is responsible for identifying growth opportunities while ensuring that user-centered design is at the forefront of our process. The Monetization & Services group is a part of the User Experience Design Group (UXD), one of the critical departments of the larger Consumer Experience & Design organization at Motorola. This role is for our Sao Paolo/Jaguarina studio in Brazil. You’ll be joining a global design organization, with offices in Chicago, Brazil, and China.
Key areas
UX management - You'll manage a team of UX & UI designers who work on various projects within the Monetization & Services space. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience with design & performance management, as well as prior experience related to monetization and service design. Our team is learning-focused, we need a leader who can coach, promote skill development and help elevate the capability of the larger team.
Partner relations — Our monetization strategy engages external partners to incorporate apps & services into our smartphone experiences. Part of the responsibility of this role is ensuring that the partners we take on deliver high-quality user experiences that align with our values. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for continued collaboration with partners to onboard their products, provide ux oversight and maintain standards of quality. While revenue growth is the goal, it should never be to the detriment of the user. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate and champion for balancing business needs with user needs.
Experience development — You’ll also be responsible for leading design strategy and UXUI development of in-house apps and services. You’ll work hand in hand with project managers to define the vision for an app or experience. Drive clarity of project requirements, deliverables, and expected timelines. Facilitate collaborations between supporting designers. Ensure high-quality design deliverables, and ensure that the final product going to users meets our standard of quality, aesthetic & usability.
Responsibilities
Manage & mentor a team of several UX design designers
Support the growth and development of multiple products within our experience portfolio
Independently lead UX design work on designated projects
Collaborate with PM & SW work partners to define project requirements
Drive design process throughout the project cycle (discovery, concept, delivery)
Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality design work
Visually communicate ideas and concepts
Regularly present ongoing work to design team & design leadership
Give and receive peer reviews in order to elevate work quality
Create user-centered design work, incorporate user feedback, prioritize usability
Clearly document deliverables and create detailed specifications
Help design leadership foster a constructive environment with emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and inclusiveness
Qualifications
7+ years of relevant experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written & visual)
Advanced experience with digital product design & development
Previous experience developing & bringing to market monetization, growth, revenue or services related products&
Hands-on experience creating intricate digital interfaces
Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design & design process
Demonstrated ability to build use cases, user flows, and information architecture
Demonstrated ability to work with PM/SW to ship high-quality products
Experience working with software development teams
Proficient working in a fast paced agile environment and collaborating with other designers, product managers, engineers, UX researchers, data analysts, customer support teams, marketers, and more
Demonstrate a proven track record of iterating on products post-launch based on user data about how the designs are performing
Advanced knowledge of design tools like Sketch, Figma, and various prototyping tools
Ability to create prototypes & design proof of concept
Storytelling - the ability to communicate ideas in a compelling way
English proficiency required
