The ANZ Compliance Manager is a member of the ANZ Pricing, Pursuit & Regulatory Affairs team which provides the Lenovo business with pricing analysis, bid management and ensures the businesses compliance with government regulations. The ANZ Compliance Manager will be both the internal and external face for compliance matters. The main focus of this role will be to ensure Lenovo’s compliance with the Fair Trading Act, Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and the Competition and Consumer Act (CCA) along with the New Zealand Fair Trading Act (FTA) and Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), it will also ensure Lenovo complies with recycling, sustainability, packaging, modern slavery and all other regulatory items applicable to the ANZ business.

Description and Requirements

Key Objectives of Position:

  • Develop best in class compliance and regulatory practices across all business units to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Write and maintain the internal policies, procedures, and communication scripts.
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure compliance with the ACCC by all applicable business units.
  • Manage, monitor and report on key business compliance activities, including modern slavery, product registrations, e-waste, sustainability, dangerous goods, risk and privacy.
  • Review frequently changing legislation, assess, and report the implications and make appropriate recommendations when necessary.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage and represent Lenovo in legal engagements with Fair Trading / Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and Fair Trading / Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) along with representations at tribunal hearings.
  • Create policies, procedures and scripts that assist in the compliance with the ACL, CCA, FTA and CGA.
  • Lead the development of and deliver the ACCC/MBIE training program, ensuring that all employees understand their obligations under the Act.
  • Maintain and administer the business risk register and ensure that new identified risks are added and monitored.
  • Maintain the business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the business ensuring that they are updated with newly identified continuity risks.
  • Be the local point of contact for both Modern-Day Slavery and Dangerous Good Regulations.
  • Manage the product registration and reporting process for Energy Ratings under the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Act 2012.
  • Administer and provide oversight to ensure Lenovo’s compliance with the Privacy Act and manage all interactions with the Office of the Information Commissioner (OAIC).
  • Engage with both marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure that all advertising meets the standards as set out by the ACCC.
  • Lead Lenovo’s compliance, engagement and response to sustainability related legislation and customer engagements.
  • Own Lenovo’s e-waste recycling fee plan and ensure that all reporting and engagement requirements are met by the business.
