Description and Requirements

Lenovo is a $60B+ global technology leader and the world’s #1 PC company with market share growth that has outpaced the market the last 11 quarters. We are looking for a strategic Account Executive to grow our State and Local Government business in southern Florida. Today, Lenovo is a leader in Public and Commercial PC sales, and we plan to continue our State and Local Government growth in the US.


The State and Local Government Account Executive will be self-motivated, understand state and national procurement vehicles, and have a deep understanding of a channel/distribution business model.  The ideal candidate will have sales experience in the IT industry, as well as the Public Sector space (specifically State and Local Government); and the ability to articulate a thorough understanding of the government space. He/she will be responsible for developing and executing an aggressive customer acquisition campaign in the government market, as well as retaining our current base of government customers across a defined region of the US.

The chosen candidate will need to demonstrate his/her ability to align new product and service offerings to the business and technology needs of the government market. He/she will also be responsible for expanding relationships within customers and our large business partners. He/she will implement our Public strategy for selling Lenovo’s portfolio of hardware, software, and services into the Public market. We are looking for an exceptional Account Executive with strong sales operations skills and the ability to form and develop high-level relationships with all levels of the State and Local Government organizations. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ year proven track record in Public Sector/Education (SLG, K-12, Higher Ed) sales is required
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience 

Position Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and established relationships within State and Local Government entities and channel partners focused in government space               
  • Must have the ability to travel to meet with customers, quickly develop organization agility, and leverage extended teams. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrated team building, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements concurrently.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Public Sector business practices including relevant contracts, procurement processes, and requirements necessary when selling to this highly regulated market.
  • Candidate will be supporting customers in southern Florida- Remote
  • Travel 50%-75%
