Description and Requirements

Job Summary

Lenovo’s IDG Headquarters Marketing Operations team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Budget & Governance Specialist to manage the financial planning, budgeting, and governance processes within the Marketing Operations group. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, compliance with governance policies, and alignment with Lenovo’s strategic marketing objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial planning and governance, with the ability to collaborate across teams, analyze budgetary trends, and drive process improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

Budget Management

  • Lead monthly net financial forecasting and closing of quarter.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the annual marketing budget, ensuring accuracy and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Monitor budget utilization and reconcile variances, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Track expenses, ensuring compliance with allocated budgets and Lenovo policies.

Governance & Compliance

  • Follow governance frameworks to ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact and advisor for business as usual operative questions

Reporting & Insights

  • Generate regular financial and governance reports, providing clear insights to support decision-making.
  • Create dashboards and visual summaries to communicate key budgetary and governance metrics.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement, offering actionable recommendations to management.

Collaboration & Support

  • Preparation and consolidation of yearly STAMP planning.
  • Partner with Marketing segments teams to ensure budgets are aligned with campaign and program objectives.
  • Support cross-functional teams with governance guidance and budget-related queries.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding on financial tools, processes, and governance policies for the Marketing Operations team in conjunction with extended Marketing Operation teams.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or governance roles, preferably in a marketing or operations environment.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and tools (e.g., Anaplan, Excel, Power BI).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of governance frameworks and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in creating and interpreting financial reports and dashboards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in headquarters finance or marketing operations in technology.
  • Familiarity with Lenovo’s internal financial tools and systems.
