Description and Requirements
Business Writer – Crafter of the Words and Culture (Early Career)
We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded business writer to write content for our various platforms using a consistent tone/style in line with brand guidelines to ensure our culture is documented and shared globally, including:
- Compelling internal corporate emails that promote events, competitions, share key information
- Culture stories that reflect our corporate values and recognize star employees
- Yammer posts to promote internal events
- Website Copy
Being able to write for various audience levels in a relaxed, yet professional and grammatically correct format is critical.
This role will also liaise with business leaders to prepare presentations and host webinar plus live events that promote our culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship so the candidate must be:
- Detail oriented
- A Strong project manager
- Assertive and provide clear directions to senior employees
- Effective at presentation design and delivery to ensure clear communication
- A problem solver that is solution focused
You'll be encouraged and expected to think outside-the-box and gain confidence in your decision-making and writing capabilities.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications or related field preferred.
- Involvement in related school activities (school newspaper, editorial staff, news staff) or previous work experience is a plus.
- 1+ years of proven dexterity with written language: You can translate ideas and sometimes technical content into attractive, precise copy that engages and informs your audience. You are comfortable pivoting between topics and writing for different platforms (website, social media, infographics), while still maintaining a consistent voice. You'll demonstrate this with a portfolio of varied writing samples directed at different audiences (emails, yammer posts, posters, websites etc)
- Independence and maturity: You are comfortable putting your head down and producing excellent work without constant supervision. You demonstrate maturity can demonstrate a successful track-record of positive professional experiences with your previous jobs, internships, leadership in your school or dedication to a blog.
- Problem solving and agility: You thrive in an environment where there is no playbook for success. You can adapt to different tasks and shift priorities as needed. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are energized by doing work that hasn't been done before.
- Reading and writing proficiency for Chinese language
