Description and Requirements

Position Description:

The Professional Services team in the Lenovo Solutions & Services Group (SSG) is looking for an early career engineering, STEM or IT professional to join our Center of Excellence team as a Tester.  Our team is driving the offering design and definition for Lenovo’s Professional Services, Managed Services and TruScale teams.  Additionally, we are responsible for the technology platform that drives these businesses, and it is this platform where you will support the continuous test and validation of the platform alongside the Quality Assurance Engineer.

In this role you will work on a global team with all geographies worldwide for Lenovo TruScale Infrastructure Services team and with the Quality Assurance Engineer to test, report and track defects within software, and to support in fixing them. The candidate should demonstrate the skills and the ability to independently drive results.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze – requirements and specifications before the development and performance of test plans. The tester will review the software requirements with the corresponding stakeholders in services and development to ensure the validity and feasibility of these.
  • Develop – different types of automated and manual test plans utilizing JIRA software, such as functional, regression, end-to-end, systems integration and user acceptance for existing and new service offerings. The tester will ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Framework and Agile Model and will work alongside different stakeholders in services, development, sales, and operations to verify the maturity of the solution and prepare the environment for demo purposes.
  • Perform – the test reports written while detecting, tracking, and documenting software defects utilizing JIRA software. Support and collaborate in solving defects and improving usability of software.

Position Requirements:

  • Work alongside Quality Assurance Engineer to proper develop testing scenarios and ensure the proper execution of these.
  • Interact with Lenovo Solutions & Services Group organization team members ensuring the appliances in the Center of Excellence lab are prepared and in good condition for testing and demo purposes
  • Communicate with development team about testing results
  • Provide accurate documentation of software defects and proper ways to solve
  • Support sales, services, and other teams in collecting requirements, preferencing and producing testing environments to support the global needs
  • Apply Quality Assurance Framework and Agile Model in the development of test scenarios.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineer, computer science, information technology, STEM or related fields.
  • Good academic background
  • Desire to work in the technology services industry
  • Previous work experience including internships, co-ops and volunteer work recommended
  • Passion for continuous learning
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
