Description and Requirements

Marketing Specialist – Events and content

We’re looking for a marketing specialist to join our dynamic, cross-functional Cloud and Software (CSW) team. This person will act as the primary point of contact for event planning and execution and will also help support the content strategy and execution for our development portal.

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for developing, launching, and monitoring successful event marketing campaigns from concept to completion.

To be successful in this position, you must also know how to tell a good technical story for a variety of audiences and should have experience managing agencies to produce and design content.

What you’ll do:

Events:

  • Develop the CSW event strategy and calendar
  • Plan and execute a wide range of global events, including trade shows, conferences, webinars, and more
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including working cross-functionally across multiple departments to ensure alignment and success
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute pre- and post-event campaigns to drive attendance and engagement
  • Develop and manage event budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships
  • Manage the company's presence at trade shows and events, including booth design and setup, on-site staffing, and lead generation activities
  • Lead post-event analysis and reporting, including identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting creative solutions. 

Content:

  • Work with content agencies to create content for a variety of platforms including blogs, newsletters, social media posts, video scripts, and in-app messaging flows.
  • Coordinate with design production teams to finalize content pieces.
  • Learn and follow Lenovo brand guidelines.
  • Upload content into our blog and/or incorporate it into other outlets.

Experience required:

  • Understanding of digital marketing channels and press and how they relate to events
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, execute effectively, work under tight deadline pressure, and manage multiple projects, in some cases, across multiple time zones and platforms.
  • Proven effectiveness in working within a large company to gain commitment and support for projects and initiatives.
  • Project management experience in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to create content from idea stage to finished product
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Sitecore or Umbraco a plus

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, events management, or a related field required
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience required
  • Experience in events marketing and content creation
  • Ability to travel as needed for events
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, complemented with creative thinking
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships and to influence others to get results
  • Persistence and creativity to persevere through obstacles

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience with large scale event program management for a highly matrixed organization
  • Ownership of a social channel including content creation

The base salary range for this position in CA, CO, Jersey City - NJ, NV, Ithaca - NY, NYC, WA, is $85,000 - $115,000.  Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on www.lenovobenefits.com.
