Lenovo Japan Commercial Business Wide Area Sales Department

We work with clients ranging from 300 to 2,999 employees. The distance between our members is close, and we share know-how as a team through group work, etc., and work every day to clear the given mission. Hybrid work is adopted, and flexible working styles are also possible.

■Roles and responsibilities

As inside sales, we effectively use telephone, email, web interviews, etc. to propose hardware, software, services, etc. to customers and lead them to contracts. It is a responsible and important job that represents the company and stands in front of customers, not outside sales assistant. You can always touch the latest IT technology, so you can naturally acquire not only sales skills but also IT knowledge.

1.Opportunity Identification/Customer Relationship Building

-Sales prospecting and outbound/inbound calling

-Initiate and drive marketing campaigns

-Understand/Evaluate customer needs

-Identify customer decision-making process 

-Develop relationships with decision makers/influencers

-Develop customer loyalty

-Develop relationships with key business partners 

-Create marketing materials

2.Products/solution proposal - Deal Closing

-Understand Lenovo’s and competitors’ strategy, products and its configurations 

-Differentiate Lenovo products

-Prepare/Develop product proposals and proposal activities

-Deliver value proposition and up sell

-Engage management for escalations

-Manage contract closure

-Engage technical resource if needed

3.Business Management

-Understand CRM Tool and continuous update of customer database on CRM tool  

-Manage contract closure 

4.Pre-Sale and Sale Order Management

-Ensure order placement and Investigate order issues, 

such as credit holds, credit line issues, A/P issues, and invalid part numbers  

-Identify resolution and engage proper resource 

5.Post Sale Order Management

-Work with Accounts Payable contact on past due A/R  

-Manage product transitions/substitutions  

-Manage/Retain relations with customer

-5+ years of sales experience in PC or IT industry

-Up to around 15 years of work experience

1.Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial in inside sales, as salespeople need to effectively convey product information and persuade potential customers.

2.Negotiation skills: Inside sales often involve negotiations with customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Salespeople need to be skilled in negotiation techniques and be able to handle objections from customers.

3.Relationship-building skills: Building and maintaining relationships with customers is essential in inside sales. Salespeople need to be able to establish rapport, develop trust, and maintain a positive relationship with customers to encourage repeat business. motivated to continuously seek out new leads, follow up with potential customers, and close sales.

4.Product knowledge: Salespeople need to have a deep understanding of their products or services, including their features, benefits, and competitive advantages. This knowledge allows them to effectively sell and address customer inquiries.

5.Adaptability: Face to face sales often involve dealing with different types of customers, products, and situations. Salespeople need to be adaptable and able to quickly adjust their approach to different customers and situations.

6.Listening skills: Effective listening skills are important in inside sales to understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and address concerns. Salespeople need to be able to actively listen and respond appropriately to customer feedback.

7.Teamwork: In some inside sales settings, salespeople may work as part of a team or collaborate with other departments. Salespeople need to be able to work well with others, share information, and support team goals.

8.Time management skills: Inside sales can be fast-paced and require managing multiple tasks and appointments. Salespeople need to be able to prioritize their time effectively and efficiently to meet sales targets and deadlines.

9.Self-motivation: Face to face sales can be challenging, and salespeople need to be self-motivated to continuously seek out new leads, follow up with potential customers, and close sales.
