Description and Requirements
Position Overview:
The Direct Tax Manager will serve as part of the US tax team, supporting Lenovo’s Tax Senior Manager to ensure that all federal and state tax compliance and regulatory requirements are met. This includes, but is not limited to, federal and state income tax return review, quarterly income tax provision preparation and review, assistance with federal and state tax audits, and ad hoc projects as required. They will collaborate with key departments across the organization, including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal and Research & Development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all Federal and State tax compliance for all North America entities (including all international compliance such as forms 5471, 5472, 8991, 8992 and 8993)
- Manage all Federal and State income tax audits for all North America entities
- Manage all quarterly estimate/extension tax calculations and payments for all North America entities
- Preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with IFRS (IAS 12)
- Specific tax related activities include (but not limited to) management of the R&D Tax Credit, Advanced Pricing Agreements, Statutory Financial Statements, and Transfer Pricing Documentation
- Support and assist with various ad hoc reporting requests
- Assist in digital tax transformation projects by advising BT/IT teams on tax requirements as well as supporting solution design and testing.
- Monitor, research and analyze tax law changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years in Public Accounting advising large multinational corporations regarding Federal and Multistate income tax or equivalent experience in industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; organized and attentive to details; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills necessary to maintain complete and accurate tax files and manage tax due dates to ensure timely filing of tax returns and payment of taxes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional with strong work ethic and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Knowledge of SAP / Anaplan
