Description and Requirements

What you'll do:

This position is for an ECAT Technical Project Manager of server development projects within Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Bangalore, Karnataka.  This is an exciting role in a growing server development organization that is focused on being the #1 trusted IT Partner in the datacenter infrastructure market.  The customer is always a top priority for this team and the position offers opportunities to grow and solve unique client challenges. 

ECAT Technical Project Manager is expected to work with peer functions as a team to develop the leading-edge Lenovo server offerings. This role is responsible for collaborating closely with internal functional teams, PCB vendors, and contract manufacturers, to develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, schedule, budgets, and statements-of-work.  The candidate will drive project execution and report status to both internal and external project stakeholders.  This position will support development of multiple server platforms in parallel.  The overall performance responsibility is for managing project scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables, including planning, status tracking, change control, and risk management.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of experience leading projects technology-based product development projects, preferably related to server or computer product development.
  • Ability to define a project scope and complete a detailed project sizing of resources and materials/NRE/capital investment.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to negotiate scope, schedule, cost, risks, and prepare RFQ/NDA and related document
  • Ensure cross-functional core teams fulfill SOW commitments across all applicable functions
  • Manage technical data repository (BOM, gerber, schematics, PCB stackup, etc.)
  • Track ECAT build progress, review BOM sourcing, report status and make necessary corrections to achieve program goals
  • Manage major risks and issues through effective contingency plans and proper escalation
  • Ability to understand complex technical problems related to PCB/PCBA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a variety of tasks, including customer engagements, engineering task management, and executive updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team environment and self-directed; passionate about learning new technologies and skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Previous experience with cloud/ datacenter infrastructure.
  • Previous vendor engagement experience.
  • Exposure with AMD server architecture and product development.
  • Exposure with Intel x86 server architecture and product development.
  • Strong understanding of PCB/PCBA technological design and manufacturing challenges
