The Lenovo Global Environmental Affairs & Sustainability (GEA&S) team is presently hiring a Data and Disclosures Specialist. This role can be remote and will report to the Director Global ESG Programs who is based in Morrisville, North Carolina. You will be responsible for supporting Lenovo’s ESG disclosures and data validation and will work closely with Lenovo’s ESG Reporting Manager to support the publication of critical ESG documentation including Lenovo’s ESG Report, Annual Report ESG content, supporting Lenovo’s response to ESG surveys and supporting development of ESG presentations and disclosures.
You will interact with many parts of the company to ensure timely and accurate ESG data collection and content development, including working with SMEs from HR, Legal, the Corporate Secretary’s Office, Investor Relations, Global Supply Chain, Compliance, Marketing, Communications and many other areas to help support strong ESG disclosures. This position requires excellent project management and communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across multiple organizations.
This role requires strong proofreading skills and ability to assess and validate ESG data. You will support numerous external ESG deliverables including presentations, videos, website content, and other activities which require precise and engaging communications for various stakeholder audiences. You will support increasing requirements for disclosure of ESG and climate related financial data and will assist in collecting and validating this data for external publication. You will help respond to customer and investor inquiries about Lenovo’s ESG reporting, which requires a strong understanding of ESG topics and the importance of clear and accurate disclosures. You will be expected to manage projects with long and short-term timelines and have an understanding of prioritizing resources and tasks. You will clearly communicate project status, timelines, deliverables, goals, and expectations to their management and other internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
Support ESG Reporting Manager in developing and publishing key ESG disclosures such as the ESG Report and Annual Report ESG content.
- Work with key stakeholders to educate them on reporting process and requirements
- Obtain and validate required ESG data
- Edit ESG content for accuracy and to avoid greenwashing/misleading language
- Meet with stakeholders to review content before publication
- Manage data integrity and ensuring proper sign-off and accountability for data
- Support local teams in development of country and/or customer specific ESG disclosures
- Support BMS for tracking and reporting progress towards corporate ESG KPIs
- Provide support for executive and customer facing presentations
- Review ESG disclosures (marketing collateral, videos, website content, etc.) developed by product teams, marketing, and others
- Support development of internal ESG newsletters, training materials, and other internal content to raise awareness of ESG topics
- Perform regular benchmarking of and research on reporting frameworks, analyst and other ESG survey requirements, industry best practices, etc. Make recommendations for improvements in Lenovo’s ESG disclosures
- Support increasing requirements for ESG and climate related financial disclosures
- Manage corporate ESG website content
- Assist extended ESG team members as deemed necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or commiserate experience in ESG reporting, ESG data management, environmental science, or related.
- 7 years of project management, ESG, and/or environmental compliance experience demonstrating successful management of complex projects
- Experience successfully managing projects with multiple deadlines and short- and long-term planning requirements
- Demonstrated interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments and high-pressure situations
- Attention to detail and organizational/planning skills; proficient in data management
- Deep customer experience focus
- Excellent written communications and proofreading skills including understanding and responding to different stakeholder perspectives
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including internal SMEs, customers, and others
- Interest in ESG and responsible communication of ESG progress
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or commiserate experience in ESG reporting, ESG data management, environmental science, or related.
- Experience with ESG reporting frameworks and requirements including GRI, UN Global Compact, TCFD
- Experience with CDP reporting
- Experience with ESG surveys and associated data verification
- Understanding of greenwashing concerns and legal requirements for ESG disclosures
- Understanding of ESG and climate financial disclosure requirements
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across global teams
- Effective working both independently and as a team member; demonstrate autonomy over assigned work while working towards goals shared by the team
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
