The Global Social Media Team

Contrary to popular belief, working in social isn’t about sharing memes and GIFS all day. Running global brand presences across digital channels is a multi-faceted team effort that drives more than just likes and shares; we’re a strategic partner to all parts of the business. The Lenovo Corporate Social Media Team functions as the Global Social Media Center of Excellence, supporting strategic business units and markets with education, guidance, governance, alignment and measurement. Our mission: Deliver measurable business value and drive brand awareness, customer loyalty and revenue through the following focus areas:

In this unique experience, you will be in a one-of-a-kind rotational program through each of the team’s focus areas to gain knowledge and experience in not only social media marketing at a global company but how it functions within an enterprise and beyond.

The Job

We are looking for a social media specialist who challenges the ordinary, seeks to innovate in learning, and can advance brand storytelling through creative social media campaigns that engage, inform, and educate our customers and followers.

The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to move at the pace of social; which is to say quickly, constantly and can roll with the punches. You need to be passionate about staying up to date with online trends (a connoisseur of memes and hashtags, if you will) but you must also be able to get down to business when deadlines are imminent. We seek original thinkers who have a natural curiosity to dig deeper and learn fast.  

With that said, we do have a lot of fun (as one could expect from a team that tweets for a living.) If you’re looking for an opportunity to be a part of a team blazing trails in the world of corporate social media, then this could be the role you’ve been searching for.
 

What You Will Do

What are your primary duties?

Throughout your program, you will work across each of our Global Social Media COE’s focus areas to gain experience through:

  • Brainstorming and creating content for social media channels
  • Diving into social media data & analytics
  • Exploring enterprise social media management tools & technology
  • Working with various business units and countries to help drive better social marketing performance
  • Learning about the paid social media landscape and working directly with in-house team and agency partners
  • Collaborating with our technology and social platform partners
  • Writing articles and documentation to support our global social media COE
  • Creating presentations to help educate stakeholders around Lenovo about social media
  • Participating in brand engagement and community management of our global social handles
  • Sharing brand content with employees through social advocacy platform
  • Helping manage social marketing campaigns at Lenovo’s global strategic events and sponsorships

Who You Are 

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with social publishing tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Ability to manage a multitude of projects at different facets in a fast-paced environment in a highly organized fashion
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – persistent optimism and an open, friendly temperament 
  • Strong team player, behaves like an owner, and ultimately focused on delivering results with high standards 
  • Sense of humor – ability to stay cool under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills - succinct writer and confident speaker
  • Comfort learning quickly
  • Contribute to new thinking and creative ways to establish our leadership position in the marketplace through creative communications and social content
  • A passion and enthusiasm for all things social
 Global Future Leader Program  REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor or Masters Students graduating between June 2021 – May 2022
    • Preferred: a degree in marketing or communications (or comparable)
  • 2-3 years experience in marketing and/or communications role (direct social media experience preferred)
  • Program Start Date: Flexible based on graduation date
  • International expertise (study abroad, internships)
  • Worked in a professional social media marketing role (including internship, volunteer opportunities)
