Lenovo HPC PS team is looking for a seasoned Principal Consultant preferably based in Central/Eastern North-America (NA) or Latin America (LA) to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.

This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.

Responsibilities:

Principal Consultant, will be assigned one or more projects concurrently, and will be responsible to manage and work effectively in the following areas

  • Decipher complex RFP requirements related to HPC infrastructure and help HPC architects design a solution that fits within RFP requirements.
  • Work with key stakeholders (customers or internal) requesting infrastructure enhancements to develop a clear understanding of requirements and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with sales and critical engineering subject matter experts to determine the solution scope and projected costs.
  • Capture the solution description and review with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineers and developers to ensure the tasks are well understood and acceptance criteria met.
  • Continue partnerships with internal or external customers to ensure the project goals and requirements are met.
  • Identify key technologies needed to deliver new products with each release.
  • Participate actively with Development and external organizations while staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
  • Be able to provide HPC solution guidance over a wide range of HPC delivery projects
  • Effectively project manage vendors contracted to provide separate pieces of the solution.
  • Ensuring customer expectations are appropriately set and managed
  • Lead technical project teams in the delivery of consulting service offerings
  • Directly, or via an assigned Project Manager, drive and managing the objectives, requirements gathering, and from time to time project tasks to ensure engagements are delivered successfully and on time while meeting the business objectives
  • Maintaining a broad knowledge and understanding of the current and anticipated future state of the HPC infrastructure marketplace including HPC infrastructure trends, technologies, and standards
  • Training and mentoring consultants and sales specialists in core solution areas


Skills and Qualifications Required:

Applicant must have worked in an HPC environment, preferably as a technical lead and possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. They must also possess the following skills

  • Extensive experience working within the HPC sector, preferably more than 5yrs
  • Detailed understanding of data center and HPC solution delivery processes and architectures.
  • Proven ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and ability to drive issues to closure.
  • Bachelor degree (within an engineering discipline).
  • Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the HPC delivery subject matter area.
  • Demonstrated willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
  • English language required. Additional languages such as Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage
