Description and Requirements
Lenovo Professional Services is currently hiring for a new colleague: HPC System Administrator (m/f/d) to support HPC and AI customers. The role requires frequent presence in Garching, Munich.
You are expected to work effectively in providing onsite (and remote) Linux System Administration in the areas of Lenovo HPC & AI platforms and solutions.
Being a part of the Lenovo Professional Services team, your responsibilities are to:
- Supporting HPC solutions at customers sites involving Server, Storage, Network, Power and Colling, OS, and cluster management software
- Implement, deliver and administer HPC Cluster
- Perform Solution optimization, Migration and upgrade and recommend strategies
- Work collaboratively and complementary with the hardware sales team, technical sales (presales) team and Business Partners
- Work on a billable basis (customer paid projects)
- Build a good customer relationship through customer interaction, ability to make technical decisions, to collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners and customers
- Develop training and knowledge base documentation
What you will bring (Position requirements):
3+ years of experience in Linux (ie SuSE, RHEL & CentOS) and HRP system troubleshooting and support would be a great advantage
Fluency in the English language
Able to perform OS installation and upgrades with no supervision
Able to perform high-level problem determination
Customer service skills, including written and oral communication with the client
Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout the career
- Linux (ie SuSE, RHEL & CentOS)
- HPC cluster manager & Job scheduling for example, Slurm (used by the client), IBM Spectrum LSF, MOAB or equivalent
- Parallel filesystem like GPFS/Lustre/Ceph/BeeGFS
- HPC system troubleshooting and support
- HPC cluster availability and performance monitoring with Icinga, Grafana, etc
- x86 server installation, troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Knowledge on Ethernet, InfiniBand, RDMA and OPA network technologies
- CPU/GPU/memory/RAID/storage/Data Center technologies
- Parallel programming like MPI, open MP, CUDA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Performance analysis/ tuning of Lenovo System x servers
