Description and Requirements

Our HPC Professional Services team is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurism and ownership - a workplace where your talents can be challenged, and your efforts recognised and rewarded.
We are looking for a seasoned Technical Project Manager based in the EU, preferably Germany, the UK or Romania to join its Global HPC Professional Services team, spanning both our Infrastructure Solution Group (ISG) and Services & Solutions Group (SSG).
This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organisation and to deliver across our major customer sites.
In this role you will be reporting to the HPC Delivery manager.
Responsibilities:
You will be assigned one or more projects concurrently and will be responsible to manage the schedule, budget, and resources within the project. Typically projects can last between 3 months to several years and may involve 3rd-party resources as part of the project.
You will use basic to advance project management fundamentals to plan, monitor, and close the project.
Your activities will include:
- Identifying dependencies for the project.
- Creating Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and monitoring status versus baseline.
- Monitoring the budget of the project versus the original costing.
- Forming and executing risk-management strategies.
- Creating the Communication Plan.
- Communicating project status.
- Supporting the HPC Architect in planning and developing the solution. For example but not limited to:
- Placement in the Data Center.
- Cooling requirements, Water and Air cooling.
- Power requirements.
- Attending and supporting Proposals and RFPs.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- 3+ years of technical project management experience, gained in a technical environment, ideally in the information technology and high-performance computing services industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship building
- Superior organisational skills
- Project Management Certification in (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, etc.)
- Experience in working with Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Ability to coordinate and lead activities of a small to large team and interface constructively with our HPC services stakeholders, including 3rd party suppliers
- Professional writing, intended for status reports and project communications
- Advanced English communication (written, spoken) is required. Additional languages such as German or French would be an advantage.
- Strong experience in using MS Project and MS Office
- Experience in developing technical specifications from user requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project management certification
- Training or experience in negotiation
- Training or experience in project accounting
- Technical background
An ideal candidate is innovative and creative while taking a high degree of project ownership.
You must also possess strong customer interaction skills and the ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several vertical organisations, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical project management skills throughout their career.
