Description and Requirements

Lenovo ISG is looking for a seasoned Technical Project Manager based in North America (NA) to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.

This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.



Responsibilities:

Professional Services Technical Project Manager will be assigned one or more projects concurrently, and will be responsible to manage the schedule, budget, and resources within the Project.  Typical projects last 3 months to several years and may involve 3rd-party resources as part of project. Primary customer base is in North America and Latin America, but this individual will be joining a global team, and will manage projects globally as needed. English and Spanish speaking skills are required.


The Technical Project Manager will use basic to advance project management fundamentals to plan, monitor, and close the project.




Activities include:

  • Identifying dependencies for project
  • Creating WBS and monitoring status versus baseline
  • Monitoring budget of project versus original costing
  • Forming and executing risk-management strategies
  • Communicating project status
  • Some travel to client sites required. 25% to 40% travel expected globally.


Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • 3+ years technical project management experience, gained in a technical environment, ideally in the information technology and high performance computing services industry
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and strong relationship building
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Project Management Certification in (e.g., PMBoK, PRINCE2, PMI, PMP etc.)
  • Experience of working with Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to coordinate and leading activities of a small to large team and interface constructively with our HPC services stakeholders, including 3rd party suppliers
  • Professional writing, intended for status reports and project communications
  • Advanced English communication (written, spoken) required. 
  • Additional languages such as Spanish or Portuguese is required as well.
  • Strong experience of using MS Project and MS Office
  • Experience of developing technical specifications from user requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management certification
  • Training or experience in negotiation
  • Training or experience in project accounting

An ideal candidate is innovative and creative while taking high degree or project ownership.

They must also possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical project management skills throughout career.

The base salary range budgeted for this position in CA, CO, Jersey City - NJ, NV, Ithaca - NY, NYC, WA, is $120k - $145k.  Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on www.lenovobenefits.com.
