Description and Requirements

To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are looking to enhance our team with additional talent. We are currently seeking a highly dynamic Process/Industrial Engineer with education/experience necessary to join our growing Engineering team based in our 240,000 square feet fulfillment and manufacturing center in Whitsett, NC (between Greensboro/Burlington). 

The Industrial/Process Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the company’s success by supporting both strategic and tactical projects within the facility.  Thes
e projects represent opportunities for the organization to develop new products, troubleshoot problems or launch initiatives designed to reduce operational costs, defects or waste.  You will use a comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of Process Engineering and Project Management to complete data analysis and evaluation in support of complex assignments for manufacturing, repair and distribution services.  You will collaborate with managers, finance and cross functional teams to execute projects and ensure they align with organizations strategic decisions.  Support operations and drive initiatives and implement world-class lean concepts within Lenovo’s Global Supply Chain organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and project manage special initiatives based on needs
  • Perform data driven analysis to identify and drive out process waste to improve cost
  • Prepare and present executive level business cases and proposals
  • Improve distribution/manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards and IT systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Operational and Serviceability Teams 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Industrial / Process / Project Management
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment 
  • Demonstrated analytical and data driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and deal with ambiguity 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Project Management
  • Background in automation applications and software
  • Experience with AutoCAD, FlexSim, SolidWorks, Simio, SimaPro and similar software
  • Repair/Asset Reclamation Experience
  • IoT Experience
  • Facility/Warehouse Layout
