Position Description:
Lenovo is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect who will play a key role in supporting the development and deployment of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)-related service offerings, including Professional and Managed Services.
The chosen candidate will be part of Lenovo Solutions & Services Group (SSG) as a member of the Center of Excellence team, driving service offering design and definition for our Professional Services, Managed Services, and TruScale Services businesses.
• This role is primarily internal but includes some customer-facing work.
• This is a remote-only role.
In this role you will:
• Support the development and delivery of IaaS service offerings for enterprise customers, leveraging hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Work with leading enterprises and cloud providers to integrate customer and market requirements into service offerings and technology roadmaps.
• Architect full-stack infrastructure solutions, including compute, networking, storage, security, and management components, to support enterprise workloads.
• Demonstrate expertise in infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, software-defined networking, storage solutions, security, automation, and cloud orchestration.
• Leverage experience with hyperconverged infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and software-defined data center (SDDC) solutions.
• Work across internal teams, divisions, and external partners to develop and deliver innovative IaaS solutions that drive business value.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present solutions to customers, internal stakeholders, and partners.
• Drive strategic relationships with Large Enterprises, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), OEMs, and System Integrators.
• Act as the technical lead for VMware-based and hybrid cloud IaaS offerings, collaborating with the Hybrid Cloud Practice leader throughout the service offering lifecycle, including:
o Assisting in the creation of new service offerings, from concept development to implementation guidance.
o Leading initial implementations alongside Technical Consultants.
• Deliver presentations in support of:
o Offering development and go-to-market strategies.
o Field enablement and training initiatives.
o Service delivery execution.
• Assist in documentation of project requirements, statements of work, and service descriptions.
• Collaborate with business partners to enhance solution capabilities and integration.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, MBA, or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience architecting and deploying enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with at least one cloud platform (VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and delivering global-scale IaaS platforms and solutions.
• Experience implementing high-availability, multi-site infrastructure architectures with defined RTO/RPO objectives.
• Strong background in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking, security, automation, and enterprise workload optimization.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack.
• Certification such as VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) or other relevant cloud/infrastructure certifications preferred.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience developing infrastructure strategy and reference architectures for enterprise-scale deployments.
• Hands-on expertise in infrastructure hardware, software, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, YAML, PowerShell) for automation and configuration management.
• Deep knowledge of load balancers, software-defined networks, firewalls, CDN, and enterprise storage solutions.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies.
• Expertise in defining and delivering infrastructure migration, implementation, operations, and optimization initiatives.
• Industry knowledge in key verticals such as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, and technology.
• Experience in systems integration and managing direct/channel sales engagements.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, container-based solutions, and hybrid cloud strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to present technical solutions and recommendations to customers, engineering teams, and leadership.
• Experience in a customer-facing IaaS environment, providing professional and managed services.
• TOGAF 9 Certified or equivalent architecture framework certification preferred.
