What You'll Do

This position is to report to PCSD’s Chief Technology Officer and work closely with the technical leaders in SmartPhone, Workstation, Tablet, and Notebook teams on developing a strategy and execution plan to capture the rapidly advancing technology in artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning, and communication standards.  This an exciting role will also give you the opportunity to work with industry leaders around the globe.

Lenovo Intelligent Device Group  is looking for a talented, highly motivated, and insightful strategist to develop and drive technical strategy directing where we should invest to create intellectual property. The candidate should have experience in technology mapping and intellectual assets value creation.  This position includes the opportunity to work with legal team on the processes of patent drafting and filing of a global patent portfolio. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity working with different cultures and across time zones.  The candidate will need to work effectively with our technical business leadership and with multiple global technical teams.

Responsibilities

Innovate with patentable ideas and concepts within an iterative product-focused process Design and implement software solutions for an extensive product portfolio built from a common platform.  Analyze solution requirements to determine feasibility of design within emerging standards for worldwide deployment Tune system/application performance and improve stability using a strong background in computer Operating Systems, embedded systems, and multi-threaded programming Maintain focus on security, privacy, and design best-practices to best serve our customers Coach and technically lead engineering teams across different geographies

Required Qualifications and Experiences

  • Degree in science and technology majoring in, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • In depth understanding of AI, ML, CV, and Communication technology. Possess strong analytical skills and fundamental grasp of technology and business value
  • Independently manage high-complexity tasks in patent-related matters to assist Lenovo business groups
  • In-depth understanding of industry standard organizations

Preferred Experiences

  • Master’s degree or higher
  • In-depth understanding of audio and/or video codec technologies and standards
  • Intense commitment to high moral standards and business ethics
  • Top notch communication and teambuilding skills
  • Strong organizational and operational skills
  • Personable collaborator who can work successfully and build relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties to achieve business goals
  • Strong ability to identify challenges and develop and adapt to changes to achieve business and corporate goals
