Description and Requirements

Lenovo Value Recovery (LVR) is an exciting new business unit dedicated to the circular economy through the reuse, refurbishment and redeployment of hardware solutions.  LVR operates as a small start up company within Lenovo and is given the autonomy to create the global operational infrastructure needed to support this new business unit.   This newly formed team is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds in product development, customer sales and support, and supply chain operations.  The ideal candidate will have a background in sales and most importantly have a proven record of project management skills with a successful track record of implemented projects across functions and Geographies.   Leadership demonstration is a must. They will also have close relationships with key members of the sales team or can quickly establish those relationships.  The LVR sales operations lead will need an understanding of the sales infrastructure and have the relationships within the sales organization to quickly define, drive and close LVR initiatives with the sales team.  The ideal candidate must have the ability to independently develop deep relationships across organizations and across geographies.

Candidates for this role will need to be accustomed to working in a fast paced, “start up company” environment in which they will need to perform multiple duties beyond the scope of their role as defined.  Candidates will need to be self motivated and have the ability to work independently to define and close workstreams with urgency.  

Summary of Responsibilities:  

  • Primary Lenovo Value Recovery focal point for the worldwide sales and channel teams
  • Define and drive closure to strategic initiatives with the Lenovo sales and channel teams
  • Develop business case and project justification for presentation to  execute teams for support and approval
  • Own the end to end launch of each sales initiative, including defining processes, IT requirements, hiring requirements, communication, compensation and training plans.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with the sales team to drive incremental revenue and profit to support financial targets for Lenovo Value Recovery
  • Drive to achieve quarterly and yearly financial targets; create recovery plans if financial forecasts fall short of targets
  • Create, manage and nourish relationships with internal customers, extended team and external partners
  • Create operational infrastructure and business management system to support all initiatives
  • Ensure infrastructure is in place to deliver committed revenue and gross profit for your areas of responsibilities

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of team leadership
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of supplier/business partner/customer relationship management
  • 5+ years of experience working in the technology industry
  • 5+ years of sales operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pioneering skills – willingness to think and execute outside the box with strong sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines
  • Leadership skills - proven experience leading and driving a matrixed team across multiple regions; experience leading teams through change and uncertainty
  • Exceptional project management skills with the proven ability to lead complex projects, on schedule and within budget
  • Strong business acumen and P&L ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across cultures, peers and executives
  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic environment in which infrastructure and processes may not be completely defined
