Description and Requirements

Enterprise External Sales Manager

Position Description:

A seasoned leader with a proven track record of building and driving high performing sales teams in the UK market.

S/he will have a proven record of successful sales management experience within the technology hardware industry, with some exposure to high volume sales. In addition, the successful candidate will have managed and developed a team of external field-based salespeople responsible for PC hardware, services and peripherals sales within the UK and Ireland Enterprise Sector (Very Large Business 1000+). Demonstrate industry knowledge within sector verticals such as Finance, Retail, Legal, Construction, Energy and Technology.

Work in conjunction with the Director of Enterprise and Public Sector and the Internal Sales Manager to implement the agreed business plan. Work closely with the Lenovo channel teams to ensure interlock between the end-user and channel partners. Maintain a personal relationship with customer's and Lenovo partners senior management, with a clear vision of customer and Lenovo's business unit strategies to develop trusted partner status for Lenovo.

Main responsibilities:

Following are the primary roles/responsibilities of the Sales Manager Enterprise: 

• Manages customer relationships, primarily through the face-to-face sales team.

• Coaches and manages sales team through a solution led sales methodology.

• Maintains senior executive relationships both with end-users and channel partners.

• Leads account planning process, including identification, pipeline management and individual plans.

• Plans and facilitates in conjunction with the sales team complex negotiations.

• Responsibility for demand planning, outlook forecast planning and reporting as part of Lenovo's standard planning cycles.

• Overall responsibility for the sales targets for Large Enterprise segments through annual budget planning and quarterly sales targets for revenue, profit, quantity and share.

Responsibilities as a people manager: 

• Deep knowledge of sales management within a large sales company environment.

• Ensures employees understand how their work contributes to Lenovo's strategy, market success and the overall objectives of Lenovo's Enterprise team.

• Leads by example, setting clear performance standards, provides straightforward feedback respectfully, and actively manages low contributors to improve performance.

• Recognises outstanding contributions by employees and the team.

• Ensures a positive performance climate through listening to employees, addressing their issues and helping employees succeed in Lenovo's matrix environment.

• Fosters teamwork, diversity and inclusion among all employees and the team.

• Continuously develops employees to build a strong team: setting clear development plans and goals.

Environment:

• Applies comprehensive understanding of sales processes and sales management techniques 
• Understands Lenovo strategies, offerings and technologies. 

Communication/Negotiation:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English 
 

Problem-Solving:

• Analyses complex/new situations anticiptaing potential problems and future trends, assesses opportunities, impacts and risks. 

• Clearly defines problems, logically diagnoses causes, identifies solutions and creates actions plans. 

• Applies creativity in developing new approaches and solutions.

The role requires an individual with the gravitas and charisma to lead a sales team selling into multiple industry sectors.
