Role and Responsibilities

Lenovo Manufacturing Engineering Team is looking for a Test Engineer, a professional that can support the test manufacturing line of ISG products.

The position requires Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, solid knowledge in Programming and scripting (Python/shell Scripting), well understanding of the Unix/Linux Environment Console, Networking (Switch & Communication protocols), and Hardware (Computer Architecture – x86 Servers). Fluent/Advanced in English to report problems and share inputs w our global and multinational team. Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude are a must to have.

The Test Engineer's duties are listed below:

  • Deploy of Proof of Concepts (PoC) in Manufacturing.  
    • Configure custom VM (VMware) for each client PoC  
    • Set up of VLAN for the appliances and network for the PoC 
    • Rack, stack, cable, and IP systems            
    • Deploy base operating systems or hypervisors on systems and VMs, to include (but not limited to):
      • Windows Server
      • CentOS
      • RedHat Enterprise Linux
      • Ubuntu
      • VMware ESXi
      • Nutanix AHV
  • Attend regular status checks and reprioritization meetings.
  • Follow up PoC orders in Manufacturing and follow up on New Product Introduction test processes.
  • Resolve issues in all PoC deployments in manufacturing.
  • Control and monitoring PoCs  
  • Cluster/Network Management
  • Tooling and Inventory control for PoC 
  • Manage infrastructure environment for the POCs, including:
    • Windows domain admin
    • Network switch setup
    • Router management
    • Health check servers and network switches
  • Act as helping hands for the Innovation Center team and other program and global teams
  • Help with documentation of processes and with the training of other team members.
