Description and Requirements

Lenovo’s IDG (Intelligent Devices Group) global Marketing team is presently hiring a Strategy and Planning Lead, reporting directly to the IDG & ISO CMO. 

Lenovo is looking for an experienced Marketing leader to define and drive the multi-year marketing strategy for Lenovo’s PC business.  While heavily focused on the PC business, this position will also play an integral role in supporting the One Lenovo initiative and drive the alignment of the PC marketing plan within the broader marketing of all Lenovo product and services portfolios. 

IDG Marketing has embarked on a transformation initiative to substantially change our marketing approach while continuing to support the core business objectives and strategies.  This role will be required to drive the transformation agenda across the IDG Marketing organization (segment marketing, PR Comms, events, Media COE) while maintaining a high level of integration with the geo marketing organizations, the segment business units, and corporate marketing teams.  The ideal candidate will have extensive strategy and planning experience, excellent communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and update the IDG global marketing Vision through the yearly planning process.  Establish global marketing Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures to guide the marketing organization in the activation of critical priorities.
  • Lead the yearly planning process for the IDG global Marketing organization and in conjunction with the geo marketing organizations, business units, and corporate marketing.
  • Work closely with the global marketing teams to ensure plans align to and support the global marketing transformation priorities. 
  • Establish KPIs for a global IDG marketing organization and work with the Analytics & Reporting team to ensure performance is measured, tracked, and used as input to create a closed loop planning process.
  • Establish principles for alignment of marketing investment with business priorities and marketing priorities across organizations (Global & Geo).
  • Collaborate with Geo and Segment leads to establish principles for allocation and utilization of Strategic budgets.
  • Collaborate with Alliances leads (inside and outside of marketing) and Alliance partners to collaborate on strategic opportunities for joint initiatives
  • Apply leadership skills to demonstrate initiative, effect change, and drive progress in this transformational period to support the overall IDG marketing imperatives.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years’ experience defining and driving strategic marketing plans, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology trends and marketing best practices in the technology sector

  • Demonstrated strong partnership skills with a history of collaborating across organizational boundaries, working with, and influencing others, and creating clarity from confusion. 
  • Able to creatively address challenges where multiple stakeholders will have varying and potentially conflicting priorities.  
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing across multiple shifting priorities
  • Proven track record of leading through influence
  • Comfortable in a performance-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive in a fast-moving environment where tolerance for ambiguity and common sense is required.
  • Demonstrated success showing commitment to team accomplishments as well as individual responsibilities
  • Strong analytical, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
