Description and Requirements
Our Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer 2024 Intern to join our team and assist in the continuous improvement of server quality. This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with our talented networking engineers, engage in problem-solving, review and gain essential knowledge of network design fundamentals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Problem Recreation: Collaborate with Lenovo networking engineers to recreate and troubleshoot server-related issues to identify root causes and potential solutions.
- Log Reviews: Assist in reviewing system logs, error reports, and performance data to proactively address any anomalies or potential areas for improvement.
- Log tool buildout: Work with the team to understand log structures and help further enhance log parsing tools.
- Network Design Fundamentals: Develop a foundational understanding of network design principles and contribute to the refinement of Lenovo's infrastructure solutions.
- Lab Engagement: Work closely with our team in lab environments to solve system concerns, conduct tests, and validate proposed solutions.
- Global Collaboration: Gain experience in a global setting by collaborating with our diverse, worldwide team, and learning from a broad spectrum of expertise.
- Infrastructure Controls: Work with a WW group to help further develop inventory tracking controls across multiple sites and maintain the lab networks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree program in computer science, information technology, networking, or a related field.
- Experience with at least one programming language(Python, C++ or similar)
- Strong Interest in server infrastructure, networking and IT solutions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
