Description and Requirements

OEM customers sometimes require customization of our standard products and services to meet the design requirements of their OEM solution. The OEM Customization Project Manager is responsible for overall project management to drive delivery of customized solutions for OEM customers. The customization project manager will be responsible for collaborating with the customer, sales and product management teams to clearly define the customer’s requirements and propose a customized solution to meet their needs. The customization project manager will then drive E2E execution and delivery of the customized solution. Successful delivery of solution requires understanding of customer requirements and the ability to express those requirements to the internal functional teams responsible for delivering those aspects of the solution. The customization project manager will work closely with the OTM and OCT to coordinate tasks with focals from product marketing, product development, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain and logistics that perform tasks and provide input to the custom solution project management plan. This role will be the primary interface with the customer’s project team and will facilitate the connection between the customer’s technical team and Lenovo’s technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and understand customer requirements through communications with customer’s offering and technical teams
  • Document customer requirements and gain concurrence from customer to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Understand manufacturing process to be able to assess feasibility of delivering customizations not generally available on standard product offering
  • Coordinate with the OCT members, including product marketing, development, NPI, manufacturing and procurement teams to develop and deliver the customized solution.
  • Collaborate with services to drive any unique service solutions, sales to ensure proper expectation setting with customer and communicate pricing impacts of customization, legal team to develop customization SOW agreements
  • Drive regular interlock with customer’s project team to ensure alignment on project time lines, status, forecasting and demand planning and all project actions.
  • Project management of multiple function work items to ensure attainment of project deadlines

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business management, computer science or related field
  • 7+ years of program/project management experience – PMP preferred
  • Customer facing communication skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • High level knowledge of product development, procurement, supply chain and manufacturing disciplines
  • Knowledge of Lenovo product development and sales enablement processes beneficial
  • Workstation & Desktop product functional knowledge
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency, PowerPoint working knowledge
  • Ability to work cross functionally across multiple organizations
  • Spirit of entrepreneurship requiring high-energy, proactive style, teaming and collaboration
  • Strong process orientation - LSS Yellow Belt or Green Belt a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with WW team members, drive WW projects
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency
