Description and Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation in design and execute from concept investigation and feasibility analysis to successful deliver the product. 
  • Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Adhere to robust design methodologies for successful product execution.
  • Work with internal teams, solution suppliers and ODMs to select best design option for power metric performance optimization including efficiency, power density and cost.
  • Provide design risk assessments, mitigation plans and development lessons learned.
  • Lead power related failure analysis, provide solutions and work with suppliers for implementation
  • Work with other designers and test leads to determine logic and functional requirements, generate test conditions, and create test requirement and procedures which includes both on the bench and in systems.

Key Qualification

  • Possess deep knowledge in follow areas: PFC, LLC, analog/digital controls loops, components application, magnetic design, circuitry analysis, I2C & PMBus communication, power converter architecture and advanced modeling of power subsystems.
  • Possess good understanding of thermals, mechanical and packaging challenges in AC/DC power design.
  • Possess knowledge of manufacturing technologies, production variance, power supply safety and environmental certifications.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to guide critical decisions.
  • 5 years+ experience of AC/DC power supply design (work experience in server and/or power supply companies is positive) and 2 years+ experience of projects management
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with innovation, integrity, flexible, good attitude on taking challenges and attention to details.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, suppliers and ODMs to ensure design meet Lenovo requirement is extremely important.
  • Good written/verbal communications skills in English.
