Motorola 312 Labs, a newly chartered internal innovation group within the Motorola product organization, comprising global research, design and engineering experts focused on first-of-its-kind product development. This group will explore the unknown through research, ideation, concepting, and prototyping to usher in radically different mobile solutions and technologies in both the near and distant future. Motorola has brought innovation to market such as shatterproof screens, moto mods and the foldable razr. Motorola 312 Labs will continue to accelerate new technologies to market and assist the wider Lenovo Group. Looking ahead, Motorola 312 Labs is focused on a few key research areas including the connected ecosystem of the future, metaverse evolution, exploring new and unique mobile form factors and wearables, advancing displays, and AR/VR technologies. The RF Architecture and Systems team creates next generation RF architectures for 312 Labs products. As a member of this team you will identify new 3GPP 5G requirements, collaborate with leading chipset and component suppliers, simulate RF linear and non-linear performance, and work closely with internal antenna design, modem SW and product development teams to deliver leading RF performance.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of 3GPP 4/5G physical layer protocol and requirements
  • Develop leading RF transmitter and receiver architectures to meet innovative product's unique form factors and advancing 5G requirements
  • Simulate, build and measure prototypes to prove new concepts
  • Deliver RF block diagrams and component bill-of-material to product teams
  • Collaborate internally with product development, antenna design and SW teams
  • Collaborate externally with leading chipset and component suppliers


Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in electrical engineering with concentration in the areas of RF, EM and wireless communication theory
  • 3-5 years industry experience in RF/wireless product development
  • Strong background in transmitters, power amplifiers, receivers, LNAs, SAW/BAW filters.
  • Proficient in linear and non-linear link budget analysis
  • Proficient in ADS, Momentum and MATLAB
  • Familiar with RF test equipment: NWA, SA, VSA and radio testers
  • Knowledgeable in 3GPP 4G/5G physical layer protocol and RF requirements
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
