Roles and Responsibilities

You will join the Mobile Technology Innovation team in Lenovo Research, an advanced research and technology group within Lenovo.  You will be working with a group of experienced scientists and engineers on advanced research projects with the goal to create new technologies for consumer products.

This position is for scientist whose research focus is on creating image/video quality improvement algorithms (for Low light, super resolution, HDR and more) using deep learning models running on edge device (Smartphone,PC). We are looking for a talented and passionate researcher who is highly motivated to create new technologies. The candidate should have R&D background (either in a university and/or in a company), and have experience in

  • Deep learning model design and

  • Optimizing models for memory and compute constraint smart devices.

You will participate in regular team meetings, brainstorming sessions, team building events, and other company activities.  You will have opportunities to contribute to the business by solving actual technical problems with innovative ideas, try out your idea by writing code and testing your code, file patent applications, and make technical presentations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • 5+ years R&D experience in designing image processing algorithms, computational photography using deep learning in academic or industrial domains.

  • Expert in designing, implementing, analyzing and testing deep learning solutions in tensorflow/tflite.

  • Experience in quantizing and optimizing the inference latency and memory of neural networks.

  • Proficient programming skills in Python, C++

  • Proficient English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publication in top-tier research conferences (ICCV, ECCV, CVPR, etc.) or patents

  • Experience with OpenCV/GL/CL and other computer vision libraries

  • Knowledge of processor/OS architecture of PC and phone.

  • Embedded software development skills.

  • Understanding of image quality metrics and great imaging experience.

  • Background in ISP, multi-frame/multi-camera algorithms and optics is a significant advantage.
