Description and Requirements

The Chief Security Office (CSO) is looking for a highly motivated individual for the role of Security and Compliance Professional.  This position will play a meaningful role on the CSO leadership team, helping execute strategic security priorities consistently and with high quality. You will bring efficiency, process, and standardization to the organization, working alongside all CSO team members and interacting with Lenovo leaders globally. You must have a passion for learning and be able to work and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment. While working in this role, you will have visibility at senior leader levels as well as opportunities to grow broader technically.  Further, the role will enable you to continue developing strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, communicationand collaboration skills.

What You'll Do

  • Program Management: Orchestrate overall program execution in collaboration with individual function/product/services/project managers. Consistently follow-through with senior leadership and all stakeholders. Effectively manage risks to project execution; proactively raise prioritization and schedule tradeoff decisions; and escalate and identify alternate options as appropriate. Be prepared to step in and actively project manage top level initiatives at the global level where needed. It's likely that this person will play an overall Program Management role over some security projects that fall under the CSO, applicable Business Units or other functional organizations within Lenovo.

  • Organizational Health: Ensure leadership team is setting effective goals and track progress of key performance indicators, communicating with clarity and transparency to the organization.  Document and drive effective action on team culture topics. Help identify security related cultural areas for improvement and turn them into action. Could include but is not limited to: team surveys, training, awareness, communication, transparency, etc.

  • Communication & Reporting: Develop and execute on a communication framework for the organization that utilizes multiple tools for audiences that range from the Board of Directors to new interns including creating templates for consistent reporting across the security organization and building presentations for effective communications. Oversee business performance reporting and scale best practices across the organization. Support and coordinate various security communication activities across the organization including working alongside members of Lenovo’s Global Communications Teams to include, but not limited to: proactive and reactive crisis communications support and coordinated inquiry responses.

  • Organizational Alignment: Run recurring strategic and operational meetings when needed, such as weekly leadership staff meetings, to ensure shared context, awareness, alignment as well as tracking and execution of actions. Support and drive overall planning and execution of CSO programs such as roll-out of enterprise-wide security training, monthly security awareness initiatives, CSO Newsletters prepared for Lenovo’s senior leaders; and Lenovo’s annual Security Summit.

  • Security Standards Tracking – Together with the GRC Executive Leader, and in collaboration with other subject matter experts, build out a method of tracking and monitoring evolving security standards and regulations along with a communication framework designed to keep relevant Lenovo stakeholders informed.  In addition, lead working group teams designed to gather information to assess the impacts of changing regulations on Lenovo business and operations. Together with applicable Lenovo stakeholders, facilitate the cross-enterprise regulatory implementation of any remediation actions for continuous improvement.

  • You are able to distill complex thoughts and strategies into compelling stories and actionable recommendations, including the capability to build high-quality living presentations fit for board, Lenovo Executive Committee (LEC), Lenovo global organization, and external partners/customers.
  • You stand out as a true team player, supporting all levels of planning, setting milestones, managing budget, status reporting, dependency management and communication.
  • You are a game-changer, who will proactively identify issues and appropriate escalation paths, with mitigation and strategies for resolution.

Job requirements:

  • 8+ years of industry experience in security compliance or operations, product/program/project management, preferably within a large global organization
  • Experience managing or participating in complex, cross-functional projects while demonstrating exceptional business judgment, utilizing emotional intelligence and building relationships at all levels of the company
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong PowerPoint, Smartsheet and Excel skills required

Preferred Requirements:
  • CAPM or PMP Certification 
  • Global experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude to quickly absorb and navigate the nuances of complex, interdependent situations
  • Ability to seek understanding, solve conceptual problems, wrangle resources, and deliver results in challenging, ambiguous situations.
  • Strong sense of urgency balanced with patience and a sense of humor
