Description and Requirements

1.Work directly with industrial designers, design research, engineering and product managers to define the value proposition, experiences and design requirements for 312 labs innovation projects. 

2.Create CMF specification documents to enable engineers to understand product concepts. Ensuring all materials are color-matched, approved and clearly documented. Monitor project progress and troubleshoot production difficulty with proactive actions. 

3.Lead and organize workshops with suppliers and prototyping activities, working closely with engineers to develop feasible ingredients for prototyping. 

4.Research global consumer lifestyle and design trends, cross-referencing inspirations from fashion & beauty, furniture and home accessories, automotive, packaging, music culture, fine art, and digital media. Followed-up by definition and conceptualization of palette, patterns, and material technology in ways that can be applied onto 312 labs projects. 

5.Identify key industry trend narratives that drive strategic versatility and broad demographic appeal. Ensuring CMF strategies and ID concepts are flexible from the outset. 

6.Research innovative materials and processes, to drive product innovation and keep in mind of cost parameters and feasibility, engaging directly with suppliers, and working closely with cross-functional teams to enable translation of these advanced technology from concept to reality. 

7.Attend and visit trade shows, research trips, suppliers and other potential research sources. 

8.Self motivated with the ability to tackle and solve complex problems.

 

Position Requirements:  

1.Bachelor degree or above in Industrial Design. 

2.Approximately 5-15 years of relevant experience in the tech or similar industries. 

3.Passion for emerging design trends and technical knowledges in manufacturing processes. 

4.Must be detail-oriented and shown superior project management skill. 

5.Excellent visualization and presentation skills, and is familiar with Rhino, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint documentation. 

6.(Optional) Plus point if the person is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. 

7.Background in industrial design with a passion for creating design solutions that positively impact the consumer, address consumer needs and elevate the Motorola/Lenovo brand globally.
