Lenovo is seeking an Associate Director of M&A Strategy to play a major role in our services-led transformation and vertical solution innovation. This role is tailored for an individual contributor who has the proven ability to develop M&A deal pipelines, influence senior stakeholders and make meaningful investment decisions at the organizational level.

As the Mergers & Acquisitions strategy associate director for the Solutions and Services Group (SSG), you will analyze the competitive landscape and participate in the investment recommendations for Lenovo’s inorganic growth in the fast-paced IT services market. You will work hand-in-hand with Lenovo Corporate Development and SSG’s Head of Strategy and Director of M&A to develop the M&A framework, perform build vs. buy analyses, and drive activities in cross-functional deal execution teams for SSG. You will work closely with Strategy, CorpDev, Sales, Delivery, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to create deal theses, financial models, due diligence reports, post-merger integration plans, and business and communication plans that will guide C-level investment decisions and contribute to post-deal success. You will be responsible for achieving results through your incisive business acumen and strong relationships.

The ideal candidate has a track record of success on strategic projects in the IT services industry. The candidate should have experience leading and innovating in new areas, be passionate about developing strategic recommendations, scaling new businesses, and enabling data-driven decision making. Experiences in services delivery/consulting provides additional background helpful for this role. You must be a highly motivated self-starter with a vision for market leadership in solutions and services. You have demonstrated the ability to drive change and thrive in a matrixed organization. You are an excellent written and oral communicator who will present to executives internally and externally and communicate SSG’s strategy to stakeholders. As the Associate Director of M&A Strategy for Solutions and Services Group, you will have a meaningful impact on Lenovo by executing the company vision of “Smarter Technology for All” as a services-led company. You will develop strategies and execute investments that are aligned to Lenovo’s “3S” strategy of delivering Smart IoT, Smart Infrastructure, and Smart Verticals. You will ensure strong customer outcomes by working across business units as One Lenovo, anchored in Solutions and Services excellence.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• MBA from an accredited institution

• 3+ years of Mergers & Acquisitions experience, incorporating or investment banking environments

• 4+ years of experience working in IT Services businesses

• Familiarity with end-user devices as well as data center infrastructure and operational technology, including the major investors in these industries

• Experience working in a global company or with globally dispersed stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with buy-side M&A (corporate or PE)

• End-to-end M&A experience: strategy, sourcing, transaction execution, integration

• Strong project management skills

• Experience in consulting/services delivery at a Fortune 500 firm as well as technology start-up environment

• English and Chinese fluency will ensure the candidate is best positioned for success in this role
