Position Description:

The Senior Manager of Segment and Solutions Marketing, for North America Intelligent Devices Group Commercial Marketing, leads a high-performance team of professional marketing managers to deliver authentic, impactful, consistent, and measurable campaigns and programs.  The Senior Manager owns and drives marketing segment strategies (development and communication) and field marketing execution for multiple B2B segments and solutions areas. By dedicating time and resources to discussing, celebrating and embracing the vast benefits of diverse ideas and experiences, the Senior Manager will unlock the full potential of the team and help meet and exceed our goals. 


  • Establish holistic campaign strategies across segments and solutions which meet and exceed our targets, while delivering consistency and efficiency across the various campaigns, segments, and solutions.
  • Work with key alliance partners to develop mutually beneficial plans which align to the campaign strategies while also ensuring full utilization of Market Development Funds (MDF).
  • Establish and monitor supporting marketing objectives and KPIs for each segment and solution area and leverage them to lead a team that embodies agile execution.
  • Leverage an integrated management system with the Senior Manager of the Digital Center of Excellence to drive seamless integration between planning, execution, analysis, and adjustments.
  • Work with the Budget Manager to ensure budgets are properly prioritized to support our objectives and optimize success while maintaining fiscal accuracy and accountability.
  • Lead with a People First attitude: dedicate time and resources to discussing, celebrating, and embracing the vast benefits of diverse ideas and experiences; while helping to build and evolve the team’s marketing capabilities.


  • Partner with the sales and category teams to understand and support the segment and solution area priorities and goals.
  • Partner with the WW marketing team to understand and support the marketing priorities and goals
  • Lead a team of marketing managers as each defines their segment marketing strategy and documents it in annual and quarterly marketing briefs
  • Help to build the annual segment and solutions marketing budget and drive effective cross segment management the quarterly marketing budget and associated operational activities
  • Cultivate a relationship, and develop joint plans, between Lenovo and key alliance partners which deliver mutual success for both. Manage the associated alliance partner MDF budgets to drive measurable ROI, high utilization, and error free execution that meets all partner requirements
  • Establish marketing objectives and KPIs, and coordinate across supporting teams to ensure alignment
  • Own and evangelize the holistic "Why Lenovo" story across segments and solution areas and ensure the strategy and content clearly articulate that value proposition
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of the Digital Marketing Center of Excellence on planning and execution of campaigns to ensure the right audiences are reached, the message is heard and understood, and our goals are met
  • Partner with the Events and Communications teams to best execute and leverage events as part of the Segment and Solutions marketing plans.
  • Work closely with the lead development team to ensure alignment on strategy, definitions, targets, reporting views, and results.  Partner with the NA Sales team to identify how to accelerate lead closure
  • Ensure that the Segment and Solutions Marketing Managers are generating New Contacts, Reactivated Contacts, and Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) that become Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs) that deliver pipeline and revenue using marketing programs
  • Cultivate and share segment insights with relevant marketing teams at a NA and WW level
  • Limited travel required (15%)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of B2B Marketing experience for an IT and/or technology company


  • Previous experience managing a team of skilled professionals is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively
  • Extensive experience building integrated go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Experience executing key go-to-market field tactics such as customer events, sales enablement creation, channel co-marketing programs, promotions, etc.
  • Ability to think strategically, but also have exceptional attention to detail
  • Previous budget management experience required
  • Previous experience working with alliance partners and managing or leveraging market development funds is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with both internal and external customers and partners
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to operate on a wide range of topics and projects at one time
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capability to determine program effectiveness, ROI, etc.
