Description and Requirements

The Lenovo Smart Collaboration Team is seeking a Segment Manager to join our Advanced Planning team as we work to transform the workplace with our innovative collaboration solutions. This role will focus on market research and analysis, technology and industry tracking, product definition, and long-term product planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a comprehensive technology and portfolio strategy that will drive Lenovo’s growth and success in the Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer needs, identify industry trends, and assess competitive dynamics in the UC&C space. Use insights to inform product and portfolio strategies.
  • Technology and Industry Tracking: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes that impact the UC&C market. Leverage this knowledge to ensure our products are aligned with future market opportunities.
  • Product Definition: Lead the development of product requirements and specifications based on market analysis, customer feedback, and technological advancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide products from concept to launch.
  • Long-term Product Planning: Develop and execute a long-term product roadmap that aligns with our strategic objectives and addresses evolving market demands. Ensure the roadmap supports the growth and innovation of the UC&C segment.
  • Portfolio Strategy Development: Build and maintain a robust portfolio strategy that balances current market needs with future growth opportunities. Ensure the portfolio is positioned for success in a competitive landscape.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of segment strategies and product launches.
  • Customer and Partner Engagement: Engage with key customers and partners to gather insights, validate product concepts, and build strong relationships that support the growth of the UC&C segment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years experience in segment management, product management, or a similar role within the Unified Communications and Collaboration industry.
  • Strong understanding of UC&C technologies and trends, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Proven track record in market research, technology tracking, and long-term product planning.

  • MBA
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Experience in developing and executing portfolio strategies in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC.  Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
