Description and Requirements

Lenovo’s User Experience Design (UXD) team is seeking a Senior UX Design Strategist.

Influencing the business and impacting the world through smarter and better technologies for everyone is what we are all about. We are looking to expand and grow our team with an experienced strategist who can help us design and build remarkable products and services for all our customers.

You will leverage your diverse set of skills from UX research and storytelling to knowledge of the best UX and Human-Factors principles to guide the business in pioneering new and improved products and services. As a critical member of our team, you will deliver creative, elegant, and data-driven solutions that address the changing landscapes of our world. You will have opportunities to share insights and ideas to our executive leadership.

Unrelenting passion for user experience and human factors with superb organization and communication skills are keys to the success in this role.

Roles & responsibilities:

• Ideate on concepts for new products and services based upon trends, user studies, and telemetry data.

• Plan and execute iterative user research including, but not limited to customer interviews, surveys, competitive assessments, and usability testing.

• Lead workshops, ideation sessions, and other collaborative programs.

• Connect the business missions and evolving trends to craft meaningful and relevant strategies.

• Work collaboratively with cross functional project team members and business peers to propose the best experience for our customers and end-users.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, or models to bring ideas to life when necessary.

• Convey the team’s ideas through different ways of storytelling and communication.

• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with colleagues, management, and external parties both in the U.S. and other countries.

• Champion UX and Human-Factors principles and apply them thoughtfully into proposals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years’ professional experience in UX, Human Factors, or Design.

• Solid understanding of UX principles and human centered design process.

• Strong storytelling, writing, and presentation skills are critical for this role.

• Experience with cross-team collaboration (designers, engineers, marketing).

• Experience developing and leading executive-level presentations.

• Ability to clearly explain analytic findings in an understandable and impactful way.

• Creative and strategic thinker, being able to develop innovative solutions to problems of all sizes.

• Growth mindset that keeps a positive success oriented long-term outlook.

• Proactive self-starter, strong team collaborator, and outcome-oriented.

• A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g.: reports, presentations, case studies, etc.).

• Language proficiency: Excellent written and verbal English.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree and 10+ yrs experience in UX, Human Factors, or Design.

• Experience working for a consumer electronics or software company.

• Experience working in a global company.

• Familiarity with the latest consumer electronic products and technologies.

• Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and facilitate alignment and clear decision-making.

** This role will begin as remote then be (preferably) onsite once Lenovo returns to the office.
