This internship will be on-site in our Morrisville, NC office.
Student must be attending a NC HBCU university.
Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is responsible for providing customers with comprehensive infrastructure solutions from edge to cloud. We proudly offer top-notch internship opportunities for students interested in gaining practical experience in this field.
This Internship is with a Hardware Development Team in the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Morrisville, North Carolina. This team is responsible for the development of new x86 Server designs from concept to launch and sustainment.
Opportunities on the team also include the development and early validation of innovative proof-of-concept server designs and component usage that highlights future technology and use cases. The candidate will be encouraged and challenged to grow and learn new technologies as well as gain experience in real-time on x86 server designs. The engineer will be part of a development team that is highly motivated to engage, understand and solve the technical challenges each day.
The successful candidate will possess some knowledge / experience in the following areas:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some experience with debug - debug involving hardware, firmware/bios or software
- Have desire and willingness to learn and apply lessons learned
- Willing to work cooperatively with member of the performance team and broader Lenovo team
- Have some knowledge of Linux-based OSs i.e. RedHat, Suse, Ubunto, and CentOS.
- Have some experience scripting via programming language such as shell script. Python, and others
- Experience or have the ability to swap hardware components i.e. CPUs, Memory, Drives, … etc.
- Must have a 3.2+ GPA
- Pursing Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Must be a junior or higher
