Description and Requirements

Role & Team Description:

Based in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, you will be working with a team that is responsible for generating innovative concepts, developing new technologies, prototyping multiple solutions, and building the next generation of products.  You will be collaborating with engineers of many disciplines, suppliers, and industrial designers.  

Part of the workings entails the evaluation of electronic packaging designs using analytical/experimental tools with a fundamental understanding of thermal sciences. 

Additionally, you will be collaborating with suppliers to obtain necessary metrics and by validating performance in our lab

You will be responsible for reporting your findings to the team and collaboratively identifying potential reliability issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar

  • 2 years of experience with analytical tools (e.x. 6SigmaET)

  • Must work efficiently in a co-development environment with tight, fast-paced development schedules 

  • Must possess the ability to successfully plan, prioritize, and organize work activities and adhere to strict deadlines follow instructions, procedures, and policies; identify and solve problems 

  • Must demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and duties 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) 

  • Experience with 6SigmaET

  • Experience with the use of CAD tools such as Creo

  • Familiarity with materials commonly used in cell phone products, fabrication of piece parts with these materials, and assembly practices
