Description and Requirements

Lenovo Workstations provide powerful solutions to drive productivity, innovation, and design excellence in key vertical segments such as Manufacturing Design, Engineering & CAD, Animation/Media/Web Creation, Science/Medical, Oil & Gas, and Finance. 

To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are looking to enhance our team with additional talent. We are currently seeking a Software Architecture Manager with experience in software application, firmware, and BIOS design in the client computing space. As part of the Workstation Development team, you will be responsible for managing a team of software application, firmware, and BIOS architects who plan and design code to support our next generation workstation products. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Review of product status and design proposals 
  • Interfacing with our suppliers and partners on new BIOS/firmware roadmaps and assisting in support escalations 
  • Socializing with key customers for design and feature input through various programs 
  • Assisting team with decision-making on software design and architecture choices 
  • Leadership of team to accomplish design objectives 
  • Team mentoring and support for career growth 
  • Cross-function interaction with other Lenovo teams in both the workstation community and software development organization to solve challenges and move product decisions forward

Basic Qualifications:   
  • B.S. and/or M.S. Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Computer Science or similar field
  • 7-10+ years of experience with software and/or firmware development in the client computing space
  • Prior position in management or experience as a team lead
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Well organized, with good written and oral communication skills
  • Passionate about technology innovation, product development, and for doing what is right for Lenovo

Preferred Qualifications:   
  • 3+ years management experience with direct reports
  • Strong programming skills in C#, Java, etc. 
  • As a global company, Lenovo has relationships with suppliers and teams throughout the world. This position may require morning/evening meetings which occur outside normal working hours, and candidates must be agreeable to a flexible work schedule.
