Description and Requirements

Lenovo, a large and diversified multi-national company with over 70,000 employees in 64 countries, is seeking a Senior Compensation Manager to join the Global Rewards Team within the Corporate HR function. This role will backfill the incumbent who will be rotating into another HR role.

The successful candidate will primarily manage compensation practices for nearly 6,000 employees based in the USA and Canada. Additionally, they will serve as the primary Total Rewards Consultant (TRC) for Group Operations, Global Accounts, eCommerce, NA Sales, Legal & Security. The role involves working collaboratively with a broader team to coordinate activities across various business groups and geographies.

Job Description:

  • Design and implement comprehensive compensation strategies within assigned groups related to base pay, bonuses, equity, and other incentives for non-executives.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure compensation packages are competitive and aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Create and maintain compensation policies and practices that comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and peer Total Rewards Consultants (primarily) and senior leaders (secondarily) to address compensation-related inquiries and issues.
  • Build & maintain multiple salary structures for USA and Canada.
  • Establish & maintain compensation guidelines and policies related to base pay, promotions, retention, attraction, and recognition within assigned groups.
  • Monitor pay equity within assigned geography and business groups.
  • Perform job evaluations within assigned geographies and business groups.
  • Assist in the roll-out of our global programs within assigned geographies and business groups.
  • Provide training and informational sessions to assigned groups to promote transparency within our function.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, GRP) is preferred.
  •  8+ years of experience in a mid to large-sized multi-national company.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude and ability to make pragmatic decisions based on facts and data.
  • Understanding of statutory issues related to compensation in North America.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak program seasons and flexibility for evening calls as part of a global team.
  • Strong personality to build virtual teams, influence key stakeholders, and conduct training and briefing sessions using multiple modes of communication.
  • Ability to work well with others and accomplish goals as a team.
  • Methodical approach to projects and work.
  • Proactive, with the ability to anticipate and prepare.
  • Strong project management skills.
