Role & Team Description:
Based in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, you will be working with a team that is responsible for generating innovative concepts, developing new technologies, prototyping multiple solutions and building the next generation of products. You will be collaborating with engineers of many disciplines, suppliers, and industrial designers. The role requires:
A passion for innovation and creativity coupled with the ability to deep dive into new technologies to find a solution enabling a new consumer experience
Ability to recognize complex problems, apply creativity and ingenuity to identify multiple innovative solutions, then analyze and resolve the technical issues with each approach
Collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines to design mechanical architectures for devices using 3D CAD software applied to a variety of manufacturing technologies
Participating and/or leading brainstorming sessions to help drive the generation of new proof of concept devices
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar
Greater than 10 years experience in mechanical engineering and design
Must work efficiently in a co-development environment with tight, fast-paced development schedules
Must possess the ability to successfully plan, prioritize, and organize work activities and adhere to strict deadlines follow instructions, procedures, and policies; identify and solve problems
Must demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and duties
Must be creative and innovative in approach to problem solving and implementing solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 3D modeling and specification creation in Creo Pro/Engineer
Familiarity with materials commonly used in cell phone products, fabrication of piece parts with these materials, and assembly practices
