Description and Requirements

Lenovo has an immediate opening for an experienced Sr Manager of Global Logistics Operations, with responsibility to lead a team accountable for all aspects of logistics across  $16B North America personal computer business within a $72B technology company.  This is a highly strategic position encompassing multiple responsibilities, involving strategic planning of our NA logistics network and operational execution of all customer delivery logistics.

This position is a hybrid opportunity working from Raleigh, NC and home weekly. Currently we are considering candidates who are living in the Raleigh area or self-relocating to the area

Role Summary:

  • Manages of all international and domestic logistics processes, including management of outsourced partners and optimizing SLA for cost and quality
  • Leads Operational interface with key suppliers such as freight forwarders and brokers
  • Delivers all logistics services across North America PC and Smart Device line of business; defining business requirements by deep collaboration with Customer Fulfillment, Sales and Operational leaders who are dependent on logistics to enable their targets
  • Contributes to innovation of Global Supply Chain and logistics strategy to make this a world-class function; re-engineering its costs and delivering corporate and regional operational goals
  • Manages Customer Experience through engagement with customers, partners and internal stakeholders on logistics capabilities, service standards and innovations
  • Manages direct report logistics subject matter experts as well as outsourced Control Tower team of 12 – 15 people 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management of a complex, multi-channel logistics network responsible for:
  • Overall logistics budget of $200M-$300M
  • Fulfilment of all outbound delivery processes, including physical transportation and manufacturing logistics
  • Optimization of cost and on-time delivery
  • Management of outsourced partners
  • Develop and maintain international trade processes, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all Customs and foreign trade regulation
  • Regional Leadership of all aspects of logistics service and related customer experience:
  • Key Leadership role and influencer within NA supply chain
  • Ownership of delivery satisfaction and customer-facing logistics relationships     
  • Frequent communication with sales regions, being the ‘voice of authority’ to handle logistics issues
  • Active support of significant change management, altering the way a major global player does business
  • Definition of logistics strategy and execution of supporting change management for NA region:
  • Technology Innovation and Digitalization of logistics
  • Continuous Improvement of operational methods, processes and structure to reduce costs and improve service
  • Expansion of the NA logistics network and new logistics models, re-engineered to significantly reduce costs and serve specific requirements of different routes-to-market
  • Constant challenge the organization to improve the customer experience
  • Scaling the operation to support double digit compound annual growth in unit volumes

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years Logistics industry experience within an operations environment encompassing:  logistics provider operations, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and customer service
  • BS Degree in logistics/supply chain or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience developing strategic logistics solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in logistics/supply chain or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience in supply chain mgmt systems preferred
  • Project management experience, with certification strongly preferred
