Lenovo’s Data Center Group is currently seeking IO Engineers with knowledge of Intel x86 Architecture and storage including device/node/ rack/cluster architecture with HW design and FW development experience who can work with Lenovo’s HW and SW design and validation team. The selected candidate will leverage a formidable technical competency, creativity, and a “drive for results” attitude to construct innovative value for our customers. 

Responsibilities 
  • SAS expander and PCIE switch HW/FW architecture Define customized SAS expander and PCIE switch FW spec, related test plan, and test utility. 
  • Troubleshooting HW and FW issue related with SAS expander and PCIE switch 
  • Provide leadership and mentoring, and work well in a collaborative team environment Interact with the Engineering Manager, Team Lead, customer, site staff and attending regularly scheduled customer meetings. 
  • Build necessary FW development environment and lab. 
Technical Skills  
  • Experience of SAS expender/PCIe switch FW coding in Server or Datacenter systems. 
  • ARM/MIPS embedded system development experience. Know interface protocol(like I2C, SPI, MDIO, SCSI and PCIe-etc.. 
  • Understanding the storage data path from file system, driver, HBA, expander/switch to storage device is must 
  • Proficiency capturing and debugging with Protocol Analyzers Linux driver programming experience is a plus Server design experience is a plus 
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems is a plus Understand Hyperscale data center environment and big data center infrastructure is a plus 
  • Education and Experience Must have 10 years or more work experience in development qualification of storage device products 
  • Undergraduate BSEE or BSCE degree required A Master degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering is a plus. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Ability to work effectively cross-culturally across teams in the US and Asia.
