Description and Requirements

About Our Team

We are seeking a System Engineer with a server system background with a focus on BMC development in the Cloud Service Provider Group (CSP).  The Cloud Service Provider Group has a strong focus to be the #1 infrastructure provider for cloud datacenters that providing computing, storage, and GPU services to cloud customers. 

The system engineer will be an integral member of a team responsible for developing, testing innovative and complex GPU servers with liquid cooling. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo, its development partners, and customers.

Our CSP solutions are conceptualized, developed, and deployed worldwide, all within our in-house expertise. 


What You'll Do

  • Develop, qualify Racks/server infrastructure in cloud data center, include compute, storage, GPU server.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, firmware developers, customer engineering teams and vendor FAEs, communicate technical issues and resolution effectively.
  • Review and provide strong feedback on firmware and software architecture specifications and design specifications.
  • Plan and execute reference code and collateral.
  • Layout and establish design documents with the engineering team
  •  Participate in key product development and technical teams.


Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Knowledge and experience in protocols and technology related to BMC (IPMI, SMBus/I2C, SPI, RedFish, REST, OS Internals, IPMI, etc.)
  • Hands-on development experience with BMC stack and software development in C and C++
  • AMD and Intel server architecture experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multi-functional teams
  • Familiar with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (JIRA)
  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring/developing junior staff members
  • Ability to read schematics
