About Our Team
We are hiring a System Engineer to work in Lenovo's Cloud Service Provide Group (CSP). This is a fast-paced customer-centric organization that will adapt to changing market demands to serve customer needs. We're the only company with true end-to-end capabilities for even the most unique datacenter computing solution. Our CSP solutions can be designed, manufactured, tested, serviced, and deployed worldwide using only Lenovo teams and without any other JDM support required at any stage of the product lifecycle.
We are looking System Validation Engineers with debug capabilities to work in Lenovo’s Cloud Service Provider Group (CSP). CSP is a fast-paced customer-centric organization that adapts to changing market demands to serve customer needs. We are looking for an individual with an understanding of current and future thermal design trends that will develop thermal solutions for rack mounted server or storage products. We're the only company with true end-to-end capabilities for even the most unique solution. Our CSP solutions are designed, built and deployed worldwide - all in-house. Mexico CSP team is a new but key strategy member of Lenovo´s vision and technical validation team, providing support and working with cutting edge companies and technologies, implementing, and providing tailored validation services to our customers.
Location: This position is based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
What You'll Do
• Work within a team of different levels of expertise and technical knowledge.
• Review design documents (MRD, SPEC, etc.).
• Identify and implement NUDD.
• (New, Unique, Difficult, Different) test cases.
• Deliver HW system integration test strategy/plan/cases/report for storage server.
• Effective execution based on test plan for storage node, rack and scale testing.
• Research technologies for future validation enhancements.
• Communicate with project team, development team to deliver information to test execution team.
• Plan and control test schedule and test resources (manpower, SUT, material parts).
• Manage and track defect status (debug).
• Failure analysis of bugs found during validation.
• Root cause identification of the issues found during validation.
• Highlight project risks, critical defects and report test status to project team and manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• 6+ years of directly related hardware design validation / test engineering experience, experience in validation within technology companies.
• Experience on server/rack and/or storage relative tests (technical storage knowledge).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Networking knowledge routing and switching
• Scripting knowledge in python and/or power shell
• Familiarity with storage/server test structure, stability & performance test methodology, reliability test methodology and FW test methodology.
• Hardware server knowledge from single node to rack
• Server/rack Managed and control
• Hardware changes and architecture
• Excellent cross-function communication skills must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to think out of the box.
• Must be self-motivated, self-learning, flexible, and willing to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
