This engineering role is a key component of Lenovo's new product introduction within the ISG  development team. The Engineer in this role will validate each new product’s CPUs, Memory, PCIe, Network, and Storage performance on the next generation x86 two-socket AMD based servers. Individuals in this role will utilize SPEC, Intel, and other industry standard benchmarking tools to evaluate low level server performance and provide performance related collateral for development, marketing teams and work closely with the peer performance benchmarking team to optimize server performance to achieve World Record performance benchmarks.  

Lenovo System Performance Validation engineers are responsible for identifying, reporting, and tracking defects throughout the development process and drive identified problem to resolution. The day-to-day activities will include configuring server hardware and creating scripts to automate benchmarking tools increase efficiency and aid in the performance evaluation. Individuals in this role are expected to provide technical expertise in support of sales, customer engagements.

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate should have the keen knowledge in x86 computer architecture and awareness of peripheral components such as Network card, RAID card, GPU, Storage devices, Processor, and Memory

• Applied knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Teams and Powerpoint to present technically relevant ideas

• Have worked in a hardware testing lab, or computer system benchmark agency in a project-like environment is a plus.

• Possess at least 2+ years of experience working and using Linux commands for operating systems such as RedHat, Suse, Ubunto, and CentOS.

• Candidate should have 2+ years experience using uEFI or BIOS equipped system, In addition to experience documenting technical findings from test / debug and review of specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in uEFI programming and testing is a plus.

• Candidate should have the skills needed to write script for auto execution -- ideally, at least 2+ years experience developing test automation using C,C++, Python, Perl or XML.

• Linux related certification is a plus.
